Forward is reverse?

I know this will sound like I've been drinking, but I promise its true:

All of a sudden, engaging my controls in forward makes my prop spin counterclockwise and the boat to naturally go in reverse. 88' Force 85 hp. By chance, has anyone seen this happen before? Can anyone get me started on a solution? Thanks, guys.

Have you played with your controls or motor position of your cables? Try disconnecting your control cables at your motor, manually pull the shifter rod up and see how it engages, I am not positive here, but I think when pulling up it should go into forward and when down reverse, but I could be wrong with that, I am thinking that you may have crossed your throttle and gear cables in your motor over??
