I just completed an entire bellows replacement and replaced the shift cable as well.
Everything went back together okay.
After putting it all back together I decided I had best hook up the muffs, and test everything out before going to the lake.
Boat fired right up, and the muffs were providing plenty of water to the manifolds and motor.
However, when I went to shift into forward gear it would not engage. It just made a clicking noise like it was trying to engage, but couldn't. So I put it in neutral and I tried reverse. Reverse does engage, but if I give it some gas it starts to cut out like it is going to shut off. Almost like the shutoff switch is being initiated.
I went back through and tried to verify that I setup the shift cable correctly, but this is my first time doing this job so I may have made a mistake. I am assuming that my boat is a standard RH rotation since it only has one drive.
Any suggestions?
Thank you.
