Re: foules plugs

cptmanny, Your plugs sound normal to me.A fouled plug is one that will have enough residual deposits as to gap bridge the electrodes and inhibit firing.Naturally there are different types of fouling to include pre-ignition(usually from improper timing)electrodes will look arced or melted away, cracked or broken insulators, oil fouled (from improper mix)etc..The nature of two strokes require more frequent plug inspection and cleaning ,and unlike a four stroke automotive plug there will generally be more oily or sooty deposits.

What ob said.

Next time you are at a auto parts store or marine dealer, ask them if they have a display or book that shows pictures of the different ways a plug can foul. Most repair manuals have the pictures too, usually in the general maintenance section.
