I have owned this motor for about 18 months and I was only guessing on age and model judging on the shape and decals on the cowel when buying parts.i was pull starting it yesterday and noticed a plate on top of the transom bracket directly below the cowling latch cleaned it off and their was the model and serial number.I read that they were on either side of the transom bracket so I always thought mine had fallen off or something.so just another place to look if you cant find yours.cheers.
