uh-oh, how long was he in there? ain't there some kind of "squatter's rights" laws out there? that might be his legal residence now...you might have to apply to some kind of zoning board before reinstalling the out drive...sorry, but you're gonna need a lawyer...

:D :D :D

Re: found a guy sleeping in my boat

I keep my boat next to my shop... It's not a good area at all, but with the T-top, I can't get her in the yard here at home...

Every time I go out to look about the boat (twice a day), I always have the thought in the back of my mind to not be supprised if I un-zipped the cover to find someone taking up residence in the boat, or in my Pop's camper...

The shop two doors over from mine had an old cabin cruiser parked out front and there was a crack-head who lived in there for quite a while... I was happy to see the old eye-sore go when they towed if off, but at the same time I was hoping that the crack-head would'nt take up residense in my boat..

In the 2+ years I've parked her down there, no issues >as I knock on wood<..........

I can hear the ACLU and Jesse Jackson now.

Shame on you for not letting the guy stay there!
You should be ashamed for not providing him with warm food, bathroom facilities, air conditioning, and HBO TV.

:)

H.

Did he do any damage? Cause any harm? Was he a threat?

Here's a novel thought - offer the guy a hot meal.

Be very careful evicting anybody from your property. We just had a guy convicted of killing 6 people that told him to get off their land while hunting. Shot 4 of them in the back!

better board up the doghouse too... can only imagine the look on your face to look through the i/o hole and see a foot or an arm... I might have grabbed a limb and pulled as hard as possible hoping he'd get caught sideways on the way out :D

Offer him a hot meal??? He was sleepin in his boat. Did you at least get a thank you?

I think it is just simply explained as this. The man and his wife got into a fight. Wife told him to go sleep in his boat....The last time he went boatin the outdrive fell off his boat(which caused fight with wife) This poor confused not in a good state of mind fellow wanders around thinking about his life... takes his wifes idea and crawls into what he believes is his boat....

Hey it could happen...couldn't it?

Re: found a guy sleeping in my boat

The point I was trying to make was that MAYBE he wasn't a spaced out crackhead, MAYBE he was a normal everyday guy who was down on his luck and his life just plained sucked - so he sleeps wherever the he can to keep the rain off his head.

Isn't he worth the benefit of the doubt, unless he did malicous damage or threatened you - which you haven't mentioned.

A simple "are you O/K? Could you handle a bigmac?" wouldn't turn you into a tootoo wearing pansy boy - I gaurantee it.

I'm with Dunaruna on this, do you guys think of yourselves as christians?

Having said that, I am aware that your society is a lot different from Dunaruna's and mine.
