...of my year 2000 200hp Johnson Ocean Pro mdl# 200VXSS. It is a fragment, about the size of a grain of rice and is red in color, actually more wine red in color. Is there anything in the powerhead's cooling passages, made of plastic that resembles this color, such as a thermostat part or something else that could cause catastrophic failure later on? I called my dealer whom serviced the motor recently for a new impeller and R&R of the lower unit for a possible water leak, as well as shift rod adjustment. He said that there's nothing in the powerhead that resembles that color of hard plastic. He thinks that I picked it up through the impeller while on the water yesterday.
