found another leak what is in there and can I repair without gaskets

ok so I replaced the head gasket and started it up to find that it is leaking water around the cover in the picture
I'm wondering if I can use hig heat sillycone to seal this area. I havn't opened it as of yet . that will be next once engine has sat after runing
should i watch for anything special when opening up
