Have over the past few weeks wrote to this forum desperate to find the air leak in my fuel system. As a informational posting only, if you have a fuel/water separator make sure that when it was installed, the mechanic or possibly yourself was diligent enough to use a silicon sealant on the threads of the caps ( both cap offs and fuel sources ) this is where my air leak was coming from. When installed by the "cert" mech he never sealed these caps and they were the cause of my hard starting, excessive oil dumping by my vro, and overall unreliable operation. I sincerly hope that this post can help someone trying to identify an air leak in their fuel system. :)

I'm wondering if he's talking about the pipe plugs in the filter base inlet/outlet ports which are not being used? Perhaps he means tephlon vs. silicon sealer?
