found jet in place of air mix screw

I was helping my friend with his 1988 85hp. Took the carbs off to clean, and I found a jet in place of the air mixture screw. Is this normal, or do I have to find him a new air needle?

What kind of carb is it?
I know later Force 85-90Hp have carbs which the air/fuel screw is a fixed jet (air jet).
But they have a idle mixture screw just at the top of the carb.
That screw is in a 45 dgr angle to the air inlet.

Just normal.

Tillotson WB100C214 Only the top carb is like this. The middle and bottom have the mixture screw in the front.

Sounds like someone replaced It???
The later models have the jet in the air screw hole.

It looks like the set was replaced. I guess my question is are they ok to use on a 1988 85hp. pics of top carb

Yes I would use it as is, just check the size of the main jet.
Check it so it fits the sea elevation you are in and then adjust the air screw at the back top of the carb.

I went through a bunch of years and models and can't find a carb that matches that one??

There is an air screw but it's on the side?

Contact the old owner and see where they got the carb.

Like Nordin suggested "
