Not sure of year, Mercruiser 4.3 alpha one, engine number OD707859, I m new to the forum and to boats, never had one. Not sure if it has the original motor.

This boat is abandoned on my property, 1992 180 SE Glasstream in poor condition. I m trying to decide if I want to spend the money to put a lien on it, to get title.

These plugs are about 1 inch up from the oil drain pan, one on each side. I also have what appear to be 2 drain plugs on each manifold. I cant find a drain plug in the front.

I plan to clean out the sealant in the plugs. Why would anyone use sealant on these plugs unless the threads in the block were stripped out. Anyone know where I can get an owner's manual ?

Define sealant?

Sillycone, was it blue and hard?

Or was it a plumbers putty sort of paste?

The paste you might want, i never had to use it.

But if you use something it's what you want.

It may not have a front plug. You most likely have to remove the big C shaped hose on the left side of the engine going to the thermostat housing to drain that part.

Get some muffs, put the plugs back in, and see if it runs. If it works, then good deal. Re-apholster it, and enjoy.

After removing the plumber's putty type paste/sealant, I found a plug with a
1/4" allen wrench fitting to remove it, I can't get enough leverage to remove it because of the restricted space

Any ideas

I did not find a drain plug for the front so i removed the hose to the thermostat and drained it.

I am struggling trying to remove the drain plugs on the block. They have a 1/4" allen wrench fitting to remove and i don't have space.

Thanks
