I have a 2000' four winns 20 ft. with volvo V6 inboard 4.3L penta sx model. The contol box will not let me advance the throttle in nuetral, the handle pulls out fine but the handle can't be advanced so it makes cold starts difficult until engine reaches warm enough temp. to idle smoothly. When operating in gear everything works great no binding and full travel oof handle in forward and reverse.

Will it move in the reverse position while in neutral?

There should be four screws holding it on the the wall of the boat. Take it off and see if something has fallen in and jammed it somehow. Are you sure that you are pulling it out far enough?

Thanks! I already checked the likage behind the control box everything visually looks good, and I am pretty sure I am pulling out as far as always and as far as possible.
I was wondering if there are any on-line manuals available for this boat and enigine?
Thank You!

You would have to run a search for four winns and see what it brings up. Have you tried lubricating the neutral shaft that slides back and forth on your handle. It sounds like it either isnt coming out all the way or something is stuck
