It is either 1 7/8" or 2" more than likly 2" that is what most of the late model heavier trailers have. If you look on top of the hitch it will tell you, or call the dealer where you bought it.

it sounds like you arent where the trailer is. You can buy an 1 7/8 and a 2 inch as they are under 10 bucks apiece and see which one fits when you get to the trailer. Take the other back to whereever you bought it. You sure dont wanna use one too small. My trailer uses a 2 inch but I have moved it around the yard slowley with an 1 7/8. It feels tight with the 1 7/8 but I know better.

I would be very surprised if it is anything but a 2". Look on the hitch, it should be stamped there along with the couplers rating.

If the rating is 2000 pounds, or more, it's a 2".

I have the same boat and the ball size is 2". The odd thing is that the manual calls for a 2 1/2" ball. I bought the boat from the origonal owners and they say that they never changed the size of the receiving hitch. Hmmm....

By the way last sommer was our first summer with the boat and we put over 100 hours on it. It ran like a champ!!! You should like it.

I have lost a snowmobile trailer that required a 2" ball but I didn't realize that's the ball it took. I was using an 1 7/8. I was lucky no body hurt only some road rash on the underside of the tongue. I reattached and drove home slowly. When I got home I tried to uncouple using a floor jack, with the fipper in the locked position I lifted up the back of my truck with the jack. Be safe take both sizes. If you have a reese type hitch you can get an insert with a 2" on one side and flip over for an 1 7/8".(providing you don't need any drop or lift)

DougV>

Uhaul sells one called the rapid hitch that's a bit pricey but allows you to be setup for multiple situations.
rapid hitch
