Tonight I thought I would pull out that old roll of gasket paper that I had from years ago, and make my own gaskets. Sure a roll of gasket paper is 1.50 at your local auto parts store, but it takes forever to make one gasket LOL. I called my grandfather down on the farm who I used to work on the equipment with and we made our own gaskets. I asked if I was doing something wrong, he laughed and said "no it goes by faster when you have someone to visit with like grandpa, by the way grandson did you know they make RTV and it is a lot easier, faster and comes in an aeresol can too"

It is a wonderful thing to know and be able to make your own gasket but as grandpa said if it isn't your '53 vette then RTV it.

Sorry Frank just thought I would share that with you. I guess I am putting the gasket paper up and rtv'ing the motor. I do enjoy your inputs and it really helps me through the repair.
