Couldnt tell you what it is but it sure is a pretty boat. Are you considering restoring it? That'll be a real beauty on the water

Yes as of today is is mine.
Now I need to figure out how to get her from the field to a place I can work on her.
Any body in the Galveston area that wants to earn a few bucks helping me haul her?

The journey is just beginning.

Does it float? When was the last time she saw water? Awful nice looking. Any interior or gutted? Keep us posted with this project. If you're going to spend a pile of money on this boat to restore it, you should keep a good log and photos of the project. If you don't have a digital camera, consider the purchase of one as part of the restore expense. Also check out the projects on shareaproject.com. This would probably be the largest project there by far!

I am still in a bit of shock that she is mine. :)

Never really thought I would win her at auction.

I will take possession next week.

All I know so far is that according to the previous owner, the hull needs to be refastened and the two diesel engines reinstalled - plus all the obvious restoration items.

I will keep everyone informed, as I learn more. But first I have to find a ship yard and a mover!
Sure hope I didn't bite off more than I can chew!

Thanks for the word of encouragement.

Okay, I saw the boat and she is beautiful, but she will require some work. Hull needs to be re caulked, engines need to be reinstalled and the entire boat will beed to be painted and varnished. But other than that she is great - however way too much for me to handle with the time I have.
If ANYONE would like a great custom handbuilt wooden cruiser from the late 1950's - shes yours FREE.
She is not on a trailer and will have to be moved.
But what a small expense to get such a great boat with a rich Gulf Coast history.

Let me know.
Ivan
aogburn1@houston.rr.com

No trailer.
Engines removed. (I did not see them but previous owner says they exist.)
Located in San Leon, TX in a over-grown field.
Boat is very restorable.
Custom made by local professional boat builder in the late 1950's. (However very similar to Pacemaker)Previous owner has complete history.
Boat is just too large for my family and I do not have space or time to properly restore a vessel this large.
Only those very serious about restoring this piece of history will be answered. - Thanks

Ivan

Okay - I will let you know if things chage and the boat has to be removed faster.
