I filled up my boat (40+ gallons) for free last fall using Fuel Perks. Many grocery stores have this now and I wanted to remind those who have this to start saving up your fuel perks for spring boating.

How it works for my local chain (Giant Eagle) is you get 10 cents off per gallon at Getgo gas stations for every $50 you spend at the grocery store. You have 3 months to redeem. You can even buy gift cards for stores like home depot their and you get even more off per 50 bucks...Same is true for prescription drugs....So if you spend $150/week at the store per week, you get $3.60 off per gallon of gas you buy after 3 months...buy gift cards for stuff you were going to buy anyway at popular stores/ prescription drugs and you can easily do this in a month or less. I did not pay a dime for gas last year!

Take advantage of this if you have this near you...they lose money on big tanks since your fuel perks are deleted after you redeem...and many only redeem for 20 gallons or less and start all over.

Re: Free Gas for Boat!

Sounds like a great idea.

On your Avatar. I remember when that stunt was first published in Merc sales brochures. I think it was showing off the "new" angled fishing motors that had the power head tilted forward to stop fuel from pooling at the rear of the cylinders when people trolled for extended periods. I think that was a 9.9 (to get under the 10hp max limit on some lakes).

Must have worked cause I have tilted my engines up when doing extensive trolling and it seems to help to keep them from fouling plugs.
