Ok guys and gals. Here's the scoop.

iboaters get-together proposed for June 24th, 2006.
All are welcome, iboaters, family, friends, etc.
It sounds like 3-5 more iboaters may be able to attend if it is on the 24th.

Anyone not able to make it on the 24th?

Activities: Duh !! boating, skiing, swimming, eating, camping.

Proposed location, Big Eau Pleine Flowage, ( pronounced "big oh plane" ) near Mosinee/Wausau WI.

Why Here?
Center of the state.
Close enough for a day trip.
Easy access to major highways from all directions.
Excellent facilities, launches, wooded campsites, protected bays, open water - 10 sq miles,
nice beach and picnic facilities, fishing-walleyes panfish northerns. Reservable campsites,
and hotels nearby. This is a beautiful area with that "up north" feel.

I have been here and love it.

Here is an image of the area. The large green penninsula is the park/campground. For perspective,
the bay just to the right of the park is approximately 1/2 mile across. Flowage is over 10 miles long.

So there is plenty of open water, and some protected bays so sangerwaker and others can get some
smooth water to barefoot on.

Fishing here can produce nice crappies, and quite a few smaller walleye, if thats your thing.
Thats what I'll be doing on Friday.

Campground is heavily wooded, nice facilities, electricity, but not sure on flush toilets, will check on that.
Campsites are close to the water.
There is no store at the park, so bring what you need for food and beverages.

Here is a map of one of the camping areas.

http://co.marathon.wi.us/is/pks/pdf/campgbeps.pdf

There are also 9 miles of hiking/biking trails in the park if you like to peddle.

Launch fee is $3.
Camping fees are $10 without, $13 with electric, plus they charge a fee of $6 to process the reservation.
So one nite reserved with electric will cost you $19. Two nites will cost $32.

Also, they allow 2 tents, or 1 camper per site, so some of us could share a site if you wish.
Link to camping reservation info:
http://www.co.marathon.wi.us/infosubcon.asp?dep=25&sid=53

I can make the reservations so we get a block of sites together.
Just let me know if you want a site and send me a check.

Plenty of motels are available within about 20 miles in the Mosinee Wausau or Stevens Point areas
for those that may just want a roof over head.

I plan on being there Friday-Saturday-Sunday.
Will bring an extra ( large) tent if anyone needs it.
I will also bring a load of firewood and my boat.
Will share camp supplies - stove, etc, with those that don't have one.

Driving distances:
From WI/MN border (Hudson) 163 miles
From Madison 140 miles
From Germantown/West Bend 152 miles
From Green Bay 103 miles

Will post detailed driving directions soon.
Let us know if you plan on attending.
Want to make reservations- email me at roscoe33@ mac.com

Any questions?

Location is at the top of this map, just to the right of center, directly under HERE
