Freeze Plugs

89 2.3L OMC
So I must be getting all these problems fixed so I can have the Perfect little boat.
The latest is: I noticed some water seeping from one of my freeze plugs so while I have the exhaust manifold off agian (to replace a missing exhaust mounting stud) I thought I would replace all the freeze plugs.
What I know is to knock them sideways and pull them out with pliers. Coat the new ones with some sealer and reinstall.

Does anyone have a better way and/or what sealer do you recommend?

Perfect little boat is there such a thing? I use perfect seal and it works great.
