Ok, I just got done taking my boat out for the first time this year. It is a 1990 250 sundancer that used to have a 454 with 950 hours on it with a bravo 1 drive. I put a dynoed 454 motor in her with a bravo 3 drive. She idles and runs fine but when I try to get up on plane I notice that it begins to bog down and shake a bit and I can only get her to about 2200 rpms when this happens. What could be going on? On the dyno it got to 5200 rpms no problem. Could I gave s motor mount issue with the torque causing it to just slightly rise up? I made sure the motor was aligned properly before installing the drive. I did notice when I replaced the mounts that there was 1 of the 4 bolts that bolt down to the stringers was stripped out a bit.

She rubs, idles fine. Only starts to bog down when under load at around 2000 rpms. I'll be going back up to her tomorrow and I'll check to see how she reacts at 2000 rpms in neutral compared to in gear.

Another thing I forgot to mention is when I go to slightly give it gas, it bogs down this way too but when I briskly put it into WOT it's fine. I do know when they dynoed it they had to do some carb work to it like changing out the metering block & jetting.

The place the Dynoed it just told me that it was dynoed between seven and 7 1/2 pounds. I'm guessing it started for fuel so Ill adjust it from 5 to 7

Are your fuel lines OE? I had to hand bend mine and kinked one of the attempts.
It could be the dyno shop was mainly interested in top rpm and lost your gradual takeoff with their settings.
There's a transition point where the low speed circuit is handing off main fuel delivery to the big circuit. If that was not taken into account during the carb setup it may need addressing.
What carburetor do you have? They all adjust.
Definitely try the fuel pressure the dyno guy used.

Word to the wise... Avoid Wilson Motorsports/marine in bay city at all cost. Them idiots took the $800 I paid them and now they're telling me to try replacing the accelerator pump because when I go to give it throttle it bogs down and you can hear the carb sucking air in... Does anyone have the edelbrock 1410 carb and if so does anyone know where the accelerator pump is located at?
