I have an inclosed cooling system. On the freswater side(anti-freeze)I have noticed after shutting the motor off the cap lets pressure get out.I just replaced the seawater impeller which was shot.My overheating problem was fixed but,I noticed while running the temp while never actually overheating did get a little warm.I was wondering if the leaking cap would be the reason.F.Y.I- The thermostat starts opening at 180 and is fully open at 198.I got up to 198 with just myself in the boat.Maybe I'm just paranoid but, with 6 people or tubing is the only time I ever ran those numbers. The cap releases pressure always. Not just when hot.

WOW!!! That was record time Dunaruna!!! I think you are refering to the problem on the sea water side I had. That was the strainer body(plastic)I was messin' with. This is the freshwater side. It's kind of like a radiator cap. Thanks

I would change out the radiator cap.
