Re: Fresh water cooling kit

Howdy,

Here's where I got mine for my 454. http://www.oceaneastmarine.com/

You didn't say what it is.....(Alpha/Bravo/Inboard) I have been told that sometimes the Alpha raw water pump may not move enough water to the heat exchanger for effective cooling at high power settings. I have a Bravo with a full system (block and manifolds) and it works great.

Cheers,

Rick

Re: Fresh water cooling kit

my motor is probably from the 1983-1998 model. I read this on that website.
1983-1998, Cools Block & Manifolds w/ V-Belts, Rear Mount.
When it says rear mount Does that mean behind the distributor? Or am I on the wrong rear:D

Mine 1997 GEN VI engine and it's a front mount.

I don't think you would want a rear mount in a sterndrive application....

I'm pretty sure I got model: MC323

If there's a question as to what model system fits, you can call San Juan Engineering and talk to their tech support. They will help you get the correct model and if you get some parts that don't fit or the wrong parts, they'll make it good....

It might be worth it to give call to San Juan Engineering and speak to them before you buy.

When I bought mine from Ocean East, the actual box of parts was shipped directly from San Juan up here in the NW. I think there was a part missing or not right and they sent me one with no questions asked. I also was able to speak with their Tech support person, send him pictures via email of what I had and he was able to advise me on installation etc...
