fresh water discharge on 470 alpha 1 drive?

Probably dumb question but want to be sure. Mercruiser 470 with an Alpha 1 out drive. With closed cooling system. When I hook up muffs other than exhaust through prop should I see water flow anywhere else on the out drive. Am used to outboard which had Pee hole and areas near cavitation plate where water discharges. Should I see anything else on this unit. Any Diagrams available etc. Thanks

You should see water from the two holes on the transom shield,by the botom of gimble ring. Sorry I don't have any pics, but I'm sure there are others who do......J

Thanks, Thats a good sign I did have water near the transom sheild with the hose hooked up and just a quick fire up. All the seals and boots are new so will look to locate holes to confirm that only where its coming from and nothing is leaking.

Mine only spits water out one side, and some thru the prop. Is this right?

for what ever reason my 3.0 puts out all the water from the starbord port when its on the muffs<br /><br /><br />tommays

same here tommays. I tried starting it on time with the feed hose disconnected from the heat exchanger and stopped cranking when I saw water coming out of the heat exchanger instead of the hose. ????
