Fresh Water Flush Mariner 135

Do I need a special hose fitting or kit to flush my Mariner 135 (2000) with fresh water? The engine will be off when I do so I know I will not need muffs. Just worried about the hose fitting. Thanks.

On the back of the motor there should be a plastic plug. if you remove it a garden hose will screw in. Alternatively you can buy a "quick connect" kit that has a plastic male piece that screws into the motor and is left there. A quick connector is attached the garden hose and can be coupled to the motor for flushing. These are avail at many marine stores and all merc Dealers.
