fresh water flush

I have a Volvo Penta 4.3GL-A engine. I was thinking of adding a 'T' connection to the RAW water intake hose so I can attach a water hose and flush the engine. This would be helpful not only to flush the engine after use but to add anti-freeze when winterizing the engine. I had a Regal with a 5.7GL and it had this set up. I could flush the engine at the dock after a day out.
Has anyone seen this on the 4.3GL?

Re: fresh water flush

Thanks for the advice Don S.
I have never used the muffs to winterize my 5.7GL but I have used the "T" connection before the raw water pump and I have even pulled the hoses and back filled. Both worked. I think this year with the Volvo 4.3GL I will drain and fill through the hoses.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Don,

You said "Later models HAD them"...

Does that mean VP has left the practice? Just as richocki, I have (for long) had plans to put a T-connection (with a tight screw cap on the "flush" port) on the hose that connects the copper tube to the transom shield tube (realizing that it introduces a possible "failure" point with the added convenience...).

As always, your wisdom and gracious sharing of (very) detailed information on this forum is immensely appreciated!

Thank you tkrfxr. That is exactly what I want. I think I will still go with the pulling of the hoses and back filling-- after I flush and drain of course. Thanks again.
