I have a jabsco parmax3 pump (3.6gpm @ 40psi) on my monterey 322cr fresh water system. the pump went out (hole in diaphragm) since i will be replacing it and i'm not happy with the fact that when more than 1 outlet is on at a time there is no pressure would it cause any problems to use the parmax4 pump as a replacement. (4.6gpm @ 45psi).

Question is will 5psi more be enough to presurize more than one outlet at a time.

Thanks I didn't think it would be just needed to hear it from someone else I guess. do you think the 1gpm volume difference will help with flushing the head killing the transom shower?

Ayuh,...

You need a pump that'll maintain the Volume,... The pressure will come naturally...

Re: fresh water pump

the main problem is, that the plumbing system is not designed to operate several fixtures at the same time. all the hoses/pipes are the same size, thus when you open the second fixture, there is not enough volume in the supply pipe to keep the full volume/pressure.

in a home you usually have a 3/4 or 1 inch, service coming into the house, it is then stepped down where it branches off the main pipe, to 1/2 inch, later stepped down to 3/8 inch going to the fixture. thus you some what keep the same pressure, because you have reduced the volume, of water being used.

see there is more to plumbing, other than - hot on left, cold on right, and stuff goes down hill.
