Freshwater flush after seawater use?

My inboard has closed cooling but the exhaust elbows are seawater cooled and need to be replaced every 4 years.
If I plumb a connection to my 40 gal water tank I could easily rinse them with freshwater after every trip.
Besides the expense of doing this properly with bronze fittings etc, plus the added complexity on the cooling water side (KISS), will it significantly increase the life of those elbows?

yes

if you use a neutra-salt injection system just before your fresh water flush, you can even go further.

I used to use an SC400 superflush system on my last boat
