Fried regulator,can I still run it?

Now that I know my problem with my 1986 Johnson 150 VRO is at the regulator/Rectifier, my question now is can I use the boat until I pull it out next week to trailer it to the shop?

You can still use it but unhood the wires to it, and better carry a extra battery

Well I didnt know I had a problem until after I took it out for a shakedown run. Could I have done damage to the stator or is the stator relatively durable enough to withstand being damaged from that run?Thanks
