I recently acquired a 1989 TX17 tracker. Have had it out a few times and am very happy with the boat.
I do detect a soft spot up on the front deck an am planning on replacing it this winter.
Are there any pics available to show how this is put together or can anyone give me some ideas.
All help greatly appreciated !

If you could post a couple of pics of the front deck I'll compare it to my 97 Tracker.

They're pretty easy to take apart, all the panels are wrapped in carpet individually (or at least mine is) and screwed to the framing below directly through the carpet.

Here is a pic of the front deck. It doesn't look that complicated.
I wanting to do a nonskid type deck.

Ok, that's what I thought. I'm not sure about the nose piece where the TM and anchor mate are, is it metal or not? It should be plywood. Remove your Tm and anchor and dig around through the carpet pile for screws holding the decking down and dismantle as much of it as you can. Then you'll have to do the same thing for the lower deck. It looks like you'll have to unbolt the console and slide it back some and take the piece of decking up with the 2 hatches in it first. There's a joint in your carpetbetween the 2 hatches and the pedestal seat base, those are 2 separate pieces of ply. Then you'll be able to slide the larger front piece back and remove it. It looks like you'll have to take the carpet off of the seat base and remove the bolts holding it down before you can get the large piece out though.

I hope this helps and let me know how it works.
