Is there a preferred method to seal the area around the tie down loop on the front of the boat. I believe I have water entering the boat through this opening. What is the best product or procedure for sealing this area?

Are you talking about the bow eye?

It sounds like it's not tight against the boat, so it will leak. You should find out why it's loose first before it rips out of the hull, fix that and use 3M 4200 to seal it.

Yes, the bow eye. It seems tight but looks like there is some kind of putty or sealant that was used before. Just missing here and there. I will look thru the forward seat access and make sure it is secure. Thanks again for all the help!

It should not need visible putty to seal it. I suspect the PO did a quick fix instead of the correct one. Prolly not easily accessible. Like they say, Why is it that we never seem to have time to do something the right way but...we ALWAYS have time to go back and do it over!!!!
