Okay, I got my trim tilt going!

Next major problem is my shifter is frozen. It won't go forward or back. I've removed handle, but I'm stuck trying to remove cables or body of shifter to determine the problem(s). Also, it is side mounted so that I can't do more than feel the cables where they attach, and I haven't figured out how to disconnect them. Any tips, here?

This is on my volvo 151 with 290 outdrive.

Re: frozen volvo shifter

Pull the back cover off the drive and disconnect the shift cable from the shift mechanism. You can then see if the cable is froze or a drive problem.
