Today I was out with my 2 Sons fishing and on the return trip I switched to my online 16 gal tank and after 5 minutes it conked out. The fuel bulb collapsed and I had to remove connection and reconnect and pump bulb, perfect It started and I took off 2 minutes later same thing. I always use a 6 gallon portable for the first part of the day and when the 6 gallons runs out I then use the 16 gallon boat tank on my return to the dock. Runs perfect on the portable. What could it be? Last year same thing over and over. This year I removed the tank before the season started cleaned in inside and out, no debris or dirt,,clean as a whistle Today was the test and it did the same thing it always does, bulb collapses and motor shuts down,,Please HELP!!

Could you be fighting a vent problem? Usually when a bulb goes flat it is because the vent system is plugged.

Sounds like a good fuel restriction in your 16 gal tank. If it has a quick disconnect for the fuel line on the tank, that could be the prob.Other wise it may have a bad anti-syphon valve or blockage in the fuel pick up going into the tank. Take them appart and check. Keep us posted.

Could be a clogged fuel pickup screen, blocked or failed anti-siphon valve, faulty primer bulb or fouled fuel filter.

Whatever it is is between the primer bulb and the fuel supply unless the vent is blocked.

Be sure that the arrow on the primer bulb is pointing towards the engine.

Yes, they should make the arrow on the bulb BRIGHT yellow or something

If I read correctly, it works on the portable tank, but not the boat tank. That rules out the primer bulb and fuel line going to the primer bulb. Troubleshoot everthing the primer bulb line connects to back to the boat tank vent. I think other contributing has covered all the components to look at.

Problem solved after checking vent out. The vent was restricting the flow. Thank You All for the help!
