I have a 1969 Evinrude 6hp fisherman.
It starts great cold. Idles good until it warms up, then it slowly dies and won't start again until it cools down. If I run it full throttle it runs great, but dies as soon as I bring it down to an idle.
I noticed fuel draining out of a hole on the front of the carb after the motor is warm. I am wondering of I have a bad float/needle.
I recently bought it and have done a tone of tune-up stuff:
-fresh gas and oil
-new impeller
-new spark plugs
-cleaned and regapped points
-checked coils and condensers
I am planning on rebuilding the carb next.
Am I on the right track or could other problems be causing the carb to flood?
