Fuel coming out of exhaust

Hi I have a 1988 sunrunner with a Volvo aq271 setup which
is a 350 with a holley 4 barrel carb my question is how do I stop my carb
from running so rich I notice it more at idle my boat will smoke
and smell like gas any help would be appreciated thanks

Rebuild the carb. Something might be stuck... but you should get a manual for the carb and make sure everything is adjusted correctly.

Have you pulled the plugs and looked at them? Could it be that one cylinder is not firing? Or are all of your plugs fouled out from running with a bad mixture?

Any fuel in the clear tube running up from the fuel pump to the carb?

Is this a recent development? Could be caused by anything from a defective float/needle valve to ignition mis-fire. Holley's are notorious for rupturing power valves after a backfire.

If you look down the venturiis while at idle, and they are soaking wet, it is a blown powervalve. Holley has a retrofit to keep this from happening.

thanks for the replies guys all the plugs are pretty wet so i guess i may just have to rebuild .....thanks guys!
