My 1969 Model 2003 Chrysler 20 HP fuel consumption at WOT during 5 straight hours was 3 galons of fuel mix per hour at close to the Caribbean Sea level with a fully laden Boston Whaler 11 Sport Model downstream.

My mechanic claims that only the Yamaha 25 HP and Mercury 25 were the most fuel efficient engines at 4 galons of fuel mix per hour at WOT and these are modern engines.

Who is right? Could this motor be that fuel efficient, I had to borrow another 6 galon tank to finish the rally last weekend and going upstream the motor started to overheat? Were there any publications regarding this consumption? Did Chrysler measure it's engine consumptions ever?
