Fuel Consumption Question

87 Merc V-150 on a 1975 Boston Whaler Outrage 19. Now that I’ve got some run time past break-in on this engine I’ve noticing that at WOT I get about 5 hours run time on a 40 gal. tank, and at trolling speed, 1000 to 1500 rpm I use only about 10 gal. in 5 hours. Does anyone publish a fuel consumption curve so I can anticipate how much gas I will use on a trip?

sorry, don't have a chart, but 8 gal/hr at WOT<br />sounds about right. my guess is it would double<br />at 3/4 throttle... only safe meathod IMO is the<br />1/3 tank out, 1/3 back and 1/3 just in case rule.<br />safe boating,<br />M.Y.
