Fuel Economy on a 150 evinrude - just an estimation?

I'm getting around 1.8 kmi a gallon. Is this normal or is there something I can do to improve this. I'll be sanding and painting the bottom soon, but I'd imagine that it won't make that much difference. any thoughts?

Carbed or efi?? How many miles is that to a gallon? What year?

MJE,<br /><br />We need more info. There are just too many variables. Besides 150 hp. and fuel economy in the same sentence is an oxymoron.

Ok so I should have known... Ok here is some additional information. It is on a 1970 aquasport CC and I get 1.8 knots per gallon. So I guess that is around 2 miles a gallon. It is a carborated engine 1988
