fuel fill ground wire?

Hello,

I have installed an aluminum gas tank in a fiberglass boat. I'm uncertain on where to connect fuel fill ground wire that is screwed onto the metal fill. It is a perko fill (metal with a plastic ring).
Fuel sender on tank has a spade plug for ground from tank to fuel gauge ground terminal. Have that connected. Then from gauge ground to battery negative. Have that done.

Any advice? Thanks.

Re: fuel fill ground wire?

I'll do some research on it,but, the Ground wire (not from battery) would normally be hooked to the metal of the boat.(This stops any build up of static electricity. Called potentional)
Is your sending unit frame(part that mounts to the tank) metal also?
This may play a roll.
I'll get back to you on this.
At the very least, I'd run a ground wire from this post to the filler neck on the gunnel if it is metal connected to rubber hose.
