I am switching from a 1992 Johnson 115hp to a 1975 115hp outboard. The 1992 has a spin on cannister fuel filter, will the 1975 have enough pressure to use this system or should I go to a small inline filter?

Re: Fuel Filter Question

The spin on canister is likely a water separating filter, and is much better than an inline filter. With today's fuel, I would keep a water separating filter rated at 10 microns.

Re: Fuel Filter Question

Once flow is established it takes no more pressure drop to go through a large filter than a small one. A good water trap filter system is your best bet for less problems.
