The fuel filter that I have is an aoutomotive inline filter. Would this make a difference on the amount of gas I get to the carbs or not? Also, do I want my filter between the tank and the bulb or between the bulb and the engine?

Re: Fuel Filter

You ought to think of a fuel and water filter seperater. There are numerous one on the market ranging from 30-100 bucks

Re: Fuel Filter

Shouldn't make any difference as long as it matches the line e.g. 3/8 to 3/8. I've used the transparent plastic fuel filters for many years and have never had a problem. If you have any problem with water in fuel, they are no help though. I put my filter between the bulb and the motor. Seems to be easier to get it primed and flowing.

Thanks Jack. I have mine between the bulb and the tank. It was very hard to prime. I think my real problem is the fuel pump. It would drain out the fuel from the filter but not pull and more gas into it.

Re: Fuel Filter

Just took out my old gas tank. There was a little of everything in there. I plan to get a new tank and replace all hoses and filters. Is there anything else I should try before taking her out?
