Fuel filter

How much fuel should be contained within my inline fuel filter attached to my 70HP merc. I was under the impression that it should be nearly full<br /><br />Thanks in advance<br /><br />Mark

They should be nearly full, if it has a big air pocket in it and you are able to move the filter turn it carb side up and pump the bulb to push the air out. If it is fixed to the power head I would not worry about it unless you are having running problems, then you might have a air leak in the line between the filter and the tank.

Cheers for the info Radsrh,<br /><br />That seems to describe my problem :) as the engine struggles to draw fuel especially when you open the throttle.<br />When I squeeze the primer bulb it gets hard with little fuel in the filter, then you literal have to force fuel through. <br />I'll be sorting it out after I finish work at lunch time :D Bring on the weekend :D :D <br /><br />Rgds<br /><br />Mark
