fuel gauge

i have a 1994 stratos 285 pro xl and it has duel tanks port and starboard and the starboard fuel gauge works but when i switch it to port it doesnt work i was wondering if any one had any ideas what would be wrong

I would check to see if the sender is wired up. Then check the wires and grounds, then the sender it self.
