Fuel Guage Sending Unit Question

Yesterday i was on my boat and the Fuel Guage said i have about 3/8 of a tank left in fuel. But i found out the hard way that it was empty.

I took the WEMA SSL Fuel Guage Sender out and its just a 14" shaft with a loose fitting plastic looking donut on it.

It is not the Toilet Tank style w/ the arm that moves up and down. Nor is it the style that Spirals up and down.

So i cant see how it might have got stuck.

With it out of the tank the Guage is working very accurate, and on the Ohm meter it is very accurate.

Please help. Thanks in advance

How deep is your tank?

Re: Fuel Guage Sending Unit Question

I think i figured out the problem. The fuel guage sending unit went 14" into the tank, but the fuel pickup line only went 8" into the tank.

The tank depth where the fuel pickup line goes in is about 14" - 15" deep.
