I replaced all the fuel lines from fuel pump to carbs, and the hose clamps that were on it were plastic tyes. I used the same type and they have worked ok, but are these what are supposed to be on fuel lines? I've never seen tyes used on car fuel lines,is this just a marine method? BTW,these are the nylon tyes you would use on electronics. Motor is 1977 70hp evinrude.

rosewood,

Those are fine. They give a good equal clamp load. They are just not very re useable.

I have used them, but I am sure a nice stainless hose clamp would be better. I know they make the zip ties you are refering to for fuel lines, etc. They are slightly different as they have a rounded part at the fastening end. (reduces chances of leaking)

I'm probably stuck in the "old days", but I have more confidence in a marine grade SS clamp that I can feel tighten up. Fuel spraying from a fitting [or just the idea of it happening] makes me nervous.
