Hi Gents
Can anyone tell me whats going on with fuel hose for outboards. I need to be set straight. The local Napa's and B2B's have hose alright, but its not rated for "oil mixed fuel". OMC isn't listing hose for half of their outboards I've checked. What is everyone using? Is the yellow plastic hose accepted under the hood? I am looking for 3/16" 1/4" 5/16" 3/8" that is flexible enough for under the carb and general fuel plumbing.

Thanks in advance

Any modern "fuel Line" should work just fine. It's not what's in the oil that may harm the line, it's what's in the fuel. I would just get the standard black fuel line, that is available in any parts house. The best way to check the correct diameter, is cut a chunk off, a decent distance from a connection and just take an inside dimension.

Tygon ("yellow plastic") hose is fine for gas, but as pointed out, so is any black fuel line from an auto parts store. I use Tygon for my gas RC planes, BC it's available in many small sizes and very flexible, but I wouldn't use it on outboards (too expensive and not necessary).

Any fuel hose you'll find will be alcohol resistant (oil is no different than gasoline to the tubing).

I read on here someplace to make sure it is rated for ethonal if you are running ethonal. I guess it gums up the carb fast if it's not rated for ethonal.

You would have to go to another planet to get fuel hose that isn't alcohol resistant. It's been needed for motor vehicles for a bunch of years.
