I AM REPLACING THE FUEL FILTER ON MY 96 EVINRUDE, 115HP. I FOUND THE THE EXISTING FILTER IS 5/16 ON ONE END AND 3/8 ON THE OTHER. IS THIS THE WAY IT COMES FROM THE MANUFACTURER? I ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT THE FUEL LINE SHOULD BE 3/8" ID, ALL THE WAY.

Re: FUEL HOSE QUESTION

Please forget the caps for your next post. The required minimum ID of the fuel line depends on the motor. The big V6s use the larger diameyer due to the need for greater fuel flow. You should be fine.

Re: FUEL HOSE QUESTION

Purchase a new filter so you know it is right. If the sizes are the same, yes,it's right.Old rule of thumb was 1,2,or 3 cylinders,5/16 hose.V4 and up,3/8 hose.I'm not sure with OMC/BRP but I see Mercury running large HP motors on 5/16 hose<br />DHP
