Fuel in my engine cowl and air box.

My 50 hp outboard Mercury is seems to be leaking fuel into the bottom cowling and into the air box. Motor still runs but seems to be working harder than normal. Can anyone provide some guidance on what I should look into.

Remove carburetors ---inspect floats / float valves.

And tell us which 50 horse Merc you have. Racer is probably right on the advice based on his long-time experience, but knowing which motor helps.
