Hi there, I am doing some fix-it work on my 1987 evinrude 225. I had a sticky needle valve or two and was getting flooding, so I rebuilt all six carbs with evinrude/bombardier kits and adjusted the new floats; no problem. while I had the air silencer off, I went ahead and pulled all the fuel and bleeder hoses to flush them. again, no problem.

the problem came when I went to re-assemble and found that I did not write down the direction of fuel flow for a hose that came out of the block, beneath the air manifold, with the nipple facing port side. this nipple lives at the very bottom of the air silencer. the two inch line comes out of the engine block, then plugs into a tee-splitter with a ball valve inside to prevent backflow. the tee splitter has an arrow on it. does this arrow direct fuel to or from the block? problem number two is that I broke one of the nipples off of the tee splitter. I can find tee splitters on the parts blowups at ishopmarine.com, but cant seem to find one with the little ball inside of it. what is this part called, what is it doing, and most importantly, where can I find one?

thanks for any help, this forum rocks!

sea hawk in seattle
