1988 carver santego with twin 4.3 vortec. ran boat out about a week ago and filled up with fuel for the winter. it was such a nice day today i figured i'd go out for a run before i pull her out for the season. started both engines and the port died within 15 seconds of starting it up. port is a new engine replaced in the spring, havent had a problem since then. i got spark. checked voltage to fuel pump and its got 12 volts when i crank it. plugged in the fuel pump and cracked the fuel line leaving the pump. cranked engine and had fuel coming out, but still no start. sprayed carb with some starting fluid and it would start until starting fluid expired. i have a ten micron raycor spin on fuel filter that was changed in spring. is it possible that after filling up with fuel the filter may be clogged up with stuff leftover in the tank, or possibly water in the filter? going to change filter and fill it with fresh gas tomorrow and see what happens...
