Hi revamped the carbs yesterday on a V4 60deg 90hp and now with the air box cover removed i can see that the petrol is constantly flowing ot the two forward facing small pipe within the carb body, its streaming out!!! the top carb seems fine but the bottom on is drip drip drip. i thought i had done the two the exact same and replace the valve seats and neddles ...i am sure i had set the float hights corrrectly but now i am wondering if the lower carb wasent....Am i asuming correct that if the float was set too low that it will not shut of the fuel into the carb and hence thats why it running out, or have i fitted the wrong part when i did the valve seat and needle on the lower..i was a bit confused to find two different needles supplied one neddle had a recess cut in the lower with a wire wraped round that slides over the float arm hense the float drops it drags down the needle,,the other was solid and simlpy rests on the float needing gravity to allow it to drop

i used both the solid ones after speaking to the supplier!

Any ides????????????????

HAve to say the engine starts and sounds fine apart from the leak

Cheers Guys

when setting floats, i like the space opposite the hinge side, to be a little wider than the hinge side, then assemble the carb, and before mounting, attach a hose, blow into the hose, right side up you should be able to blow air thru it, up side down, no air passage.

so are we saying that it is the float height that is causing the problem???
