So I have a 2001 (i think) 40 HP EFI 4 stroke which is leaking gas at the fuel pump. There is what I would call a weep hole on the right side of the pump where gas is bubbling out. About 6 years ago this happened and when i took it to the marina they said that the ethinol gas caused the fuel line to deteriorate and sediment collected at an "L" somewhere past the fuel pump restricting the flow. Well its happened again even though I have only use ethinol free gas since the previous happening. What is crazy is its also happening to my neighbor with a similar size and age merc. Any idea where this "L" is located??? It cant be far in as they only charged an hour and a half
labor and that was with replacing the fuel line. Would rather save some cash but I am not a mechanic so keep that in mind if you issue advice. Thanks in advance
