Well as the title states I have a fuel leak. I own an 89 bayliner 1950 with a Force 125. I went out last weekend and did some fishing. Boat ran fine all weekend. We have had a good bit of rain this week and then on Thursday we went outside to get in the truck and we smelt gas. I thought that it was the boat but when I went to the boat no smell. Then today I smelt it again and when I looked at the drain hole and saw a blue foam like film. I could see the fumes of gas coming out ot the drain hole also. When I climbed in and lifted the storage pouch to gain acccess to the tank I could see the drain hole and it also did not smell like gas. I am at a lose here as to where the fuel may be coming from. Any advise would be greatlly appreciated.
Thanks,
JJ

Re: Fuel Leak

I'm working on the same thing except I cannot find any visible gas leaks anywhere. I have a 1997 190 Starcraft Fishmaster and have checked all the lines with no leaks. I pull my gas tank cover (center floor board), siphoned all the gas out, and actually pull my gas tank out of the boat thinking I would find some gas under it (not enough to make it to the bilge though) and nothing. I did notice that two of the gaskets/seals, one for the sending unit, and one at the other end of the tank (not sure whats that for) were squeezed out, like someone over torqued them down. I dropped the tank off at a local RENU for them to check it out. I'll let you know the outcome.

I also thought maybe the wood under the vinyl may have been soaked with gas sometime before but it is to intermitten. Hopefully someone has had a previous experience and can help us out.
